The Briefest Summary of my thoughts over the last few days

When I woke up around 3:30am EST on Wednesday morning, the first thought that went through my head was about how one of my favorite theologians, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, was so convinced that Hitler needed to be taken down, he became a part of Operation Valkyrie, though he knew that murder was wrong. I subsequently wondered how appropriate it would be for a similar operation to begin.
But on a more serious note, I have taken the last couple of days to process the reality of the world we live in, and two things I know for certain:
1) This earth is not my final home
2) “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”
For someone who is instinctually cynical but chooses to be optimistic, my insides are so conflicted about how to feel and how to perceive the imminent future of this nation. Whatever lies ahead for us in the next 4 years, I’m gonna have to live through it and tell my future to not make the same mistakes.
