I don’t often identify myself as a person of Chinese descent, because there’s such a complicated history between mainland China and Taiwan. To be completely honest, I spend very little of my time thinking about being an “Asian American” because of how little that identity actually influences me, yet I feel that having spent my formative yearsContinueContinue reading ““Leftover Women” of China”

Portrait Session – Angelica
Yesterday I got the chance to help my best friend shoot some portraits after she chopped off 12 inches of her hair. I am an amateur by all means, but it was fun to boss her around her yard and tell her what to do. Needless to say, I’m actually pretty content with the results.

22
Contrary to what Taylor Swift tells me how to feel, Saturday came and went just like any other day. The only difference is, this time I am right back at the heart of the very city I took my first breath in, also it was a sunny 80 degrees in the middle of January andContinueContinue reading “22”
The Oscar contenders: Remaining reviews
I had meant to write reviews of each film after watching them but didn’t get around to doing that, so here is an abridged review to those films: Boyhood – There has been so much talk around this 12 year project. It is a project that required an incredible vision and commitment, one which director Richard LinklaterContinueContinue reading “The Oscar contenders: Remaining reviews”
